It’s approaching that time of year when yet again we are challenging you to create the best pumpkin for our Halloween competition.
Our competition is open to all ages, young and old. Your entry must be a pumpkin (no other fruit or veg please) and must be your own original design.
The winner will receive a Swains hamper filled with goodies
All you need to do is post a picture of your pumpkin on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #SwainsPumpkin, and we’ll reveal a winner on Monday, 31st October. Alternatively you can email your picture to firstname.lastname@example.org

We have the mini bunnies, sheep and chicks in packs of 5. These are mix and match £2.95 2 for £5 and this offer also includes all flavours of the 200g gold bunnies. The Lindt range of Easter eggs are perfect for grown ups. We have the Lindor range including a limited edition white chocolate with strawberries and cream or if you’re feeling extra generous (and want to please you loved one) you could buy them the master chocolatier heavenly hazelnut egg, it looks and smells delicious.
For the youngsters we have a range of popular children’s character eggs including Peppa Pig and Doc Mcstuffin. Moo free eggs are available in chocolate and honeycomb, they are organic and contain no dairy which means that no child will be left out this Easter.
We also have a range of Easter biscuits and Simnel cakes or if you’d prefer a gift of the non-edible variety then why not have a look round our Garden Centre for a colourful spring planter.
The event offered an afternoon of traditional entertainment with all the fun of the fair provided by Harris’s Fun Fair. The old-time charm of swing-boats, a coconut shy, and other attractions were joined by Johnathan Cann’s Punch and Judy show, captivating visitors of all ages. Johnathan continued with a riotous magic show while Lisa of Boogie Hoops tirelessly provided entertainment all afternoon. Many children were smiling as they left with a “walking pet balloon” or glitter tattoo. Huxley’s Birds of Prey were on hand with a baby Small Owl and other winged highlights. Refreshments were provided by the Pizza Oven, The Crumpet Caddy and Downsview Ice Cream. All helping to raise money for the worthy local charity.
It was so nice to celebrate thirty years of Swains with a big thank you in the form of this successful charity family fun day. Raising £1325 from everyone’s efforts on the day is amazing.
